Seductive Witchbladeby ~Cynday

Here is a commission sketch I did of Witch Blade. I expiramented with some shading on the lingerie. A friend said I should focus on my faces as my next level, and I think I have brought them up a notch BAM season weasle!

I do not recall the original piece from 2010 that well, so we'll just go with commenting on it as it stands. First of all, it's nice to see you posting art again. It's been a while.

In terms of the impact of the piece and its capacity to translate a "Sexiness" to the character, I think you did a fairly appreciable job here. The pose is about right to draw the eyes towards the hips and breasts. It's seductive without being slutty, which is generally a demand I have in pin-ups of this nature (If I want slutty, that's what pornography is for). The facial expression is slightly deadpan, showing relatively little emotion to it, but I don't think that detracts from the 'seductive' nature of the piece, though it also doesn't add to it much (Witchblade never strikes me as the naive, doesn't know she's sexy type.). On originality, I think my only complaint would be "It's not exactly new to see Witchblade posed this way." ^.~, but that's not really a criticism.

In terms of technique, your proportions are spot on for comic styles in pencil. Shading is solid on the torso and head and there's excellent work on the folds of the fabric. A little bit of added shading on her right leg (as the left is folded over it) would have been nice to give the same depth to the lower body that the upper body carries, but does not marr the image too much. I detect no major critical errors throughout. Overall, a very solid piece.
